Our office adheres to the recommended national standards for sterilization procedures in electrology offices established by the American Electrology Association in conjunction with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
We use sterile forceps, pre-sterilized, single-use, disposable probes, disposable examination gloves, dry heat sterilizer, fresh table paper or new sheets with each client and rigid sanitation methods before each client.
Our probes are single-use, individually wrapped, and pre-sterlized. They are immediately disposed of into a special Sharps Hazardous Materials Container after each client.
During the initial assessment for electrolysis hair removal clients are asked to fill out a questionnaire about their health status and medication prescriptions. Since electrolysis affects the skin, clinicians must know about any medical conditions before the start of treatment.
Some contraindications are related to diabetes, pregnancy, and medications being taken (which can stimulate hair growth) to name a few. If you have questions please contact us and also speak to your medical doctor.
